Our firm was founded in 1940 by A Edward Major, Sr., a former bank employee, upon his appointment as real estate counsel. Our principal areas of practice were then, and are now, mortgages for commercial and residential real estate, as well as counsel for commercial and corporate structuring.
The founder's son, A Edward Major, Jr., joined the practice in 1987 and now leads the firm. Under his guidance, the firm is registered to practice law in England and Wales, as well as New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
With a vintage townhouse office in midtown Manhattan, A Edward Major provides a welcome alternative to large and impersonal law offices. Clients always deal directly with the firm's senior attorneys and are not relegated to a subordinate or paralegal.
